DATING

1. You’re on a speed date. You’ve got 7 minutes with the potential partner. You already know the person’s name. What are the first three questions you would ask?
What do you like to do on the weekends?
Do you like football and who is your favorite team?

2. Have you ever participated in speed dating? Did you get a regular date/second date out of it?
Sorta.  Let me explain.  A friend told me about a speed dating event at one of the bars on the military base.  I called and signed up.  The day before, a woman called me and said it was canceled because only 3 girls had signed up!  But they had 20 guys!  I told her they should just have it anyway.  She didn't share my sense of humor and told me "no" and that it was canceled.


3. Do you participate in online dating? How many dates have you had as a result of online dating sites/matches?
I haven't online dated in years.  I think I was last online in 2008.  I had quite a few dates, but none were very successful.  The guys I met usually fell into the category of being good looking, but dumb and dull in person or not looking like their picture at all (one guy used a picture from 10 years before).  

4. You are attracted to:
a. Who people are?
b. What people have?
c. What they can do?
I guess a mixture of each.  I want someone who is a genuinely good person, interesting personality, with a kind heart (a).  I want someone who has a stable life - a job, car, a place to live NOT with mommy and daddy (b).   And someone who has some skills/talent/hobbies to bring to the relationship (c).  If a guy can cook, he will always win me over!

5. What “little red flag” will cause you to end a date or immediately decide this person isn’t for you?
Talking way too much about his ex and/or talking about what an awful person his ex was.  I also hate guys who insist on telling me how they were the victim and were mistreated by their ex, while they were the perfect husband/boyfriend, but yet they stayed with her for 5 years.  Blah, blah, blah.  Lame.

6. What do you feel you need to sacrifice or have sacrificed to be a part of a relationship?
I think you need to compromise if you want a relationship to work.  But it has to be something you're willing to compromise on.  And it has to be a relationship worth compromising for.

7. If you cooked for your date, what would you cook?
First, I'd ask him if he was allergic to anything or if there was certain food that he definitely didn't like.  After I got those answers, I'd plan the menu.  In general, white boy are happy anytime you feed time steak and potatoes, so I usually go that route.  Otherwise, I like to go Italian and make lasagna.  

8. At the end of a first date, how would you kiss your date?
a. Press your lips against theirs
b. Gentle kiss on the cheek
c. Lots o’ tongue, like you’re on a tonsil exploration
d. I don’t kiss on the first date

It really depends on how the date went.  I would prefer the guy make the first move, so if he went for my cheek, I'd be fine with that.  If he went for my lips and it was an amazing date, I'd love that!   If I really like him and I know he's shy, I am willing to make the first move and I'd go for his lips!

1. What’s the most annoying song in the world?

MIMS - This Is Why I'm Hot.  

I hate this song!  It's annoying and has no point!  And for some reason, the radio stations in Hawaii played this every 15 minutes when it was popular.  I still hear it now and then too!

2. What’s the saddest song in the world?

 

Kansas - Dust In The Wind.   

I know this may not be the saddest song I've ever heard, but it always gets me thinking.  It's just a somber song but I really love it!

3. What’s the sexiest song in the world?

 Justin Nozuka - After Tonight.  

I love this song.  Justin's voice is so soulful and the words are beautiful.  This song makes me want to take off my clothes and have sex all day!


4. Name a new, to you, band or music artist that you can’t get enough of? Post a link to one of their songs.

I love Boyce Avenue. This group does a lot of acoustic covers of popular songs on YouTube, but this song, "Find Me", is an original and I love it!  I think they will make it big one day.  They are amazing.  

5. Have you met any famous musicians?
I was lucky enough to meet some of the artists/groups that performed here in Hawaii - Gretchen Wilson, 3 Days Grace, Everclear, Papa Roach, there's probably more, but I can't even remember.

6. What song best describes your life?

Owl City - Fireflies.  

I don't know if this best describes my life, but I know that anytime I have a bad day, I hear this song and I feel better.  It's such a whimsical song and instantly brings a smile to my face.

7. How important is your partner’s taste in music to you?
I would rather have a partner who liked the same music as me, but it's not a deal breaker.  He would need to be somewhat open minded though.  I try to give songs/artists a chance.  I have a wide range of music on my Itunes because it's random songs that people have introduced me to. 

8. Do you sing in the shower?
I hardly ever sing in the shower.  I tend to take quick showers, so I don't even bother to turn on the radio.

9. What was the last live music show you attended? Did you buy a t-shirt?
I saw Korn and Five Finger Death Punch about 2 weeks ago.  And no, I did not buy a t-shirt.  I almost never buy anything because it's all way too expensive. 

10. What’s the sweetest song in the world?

 Oliver James - Greatest Story Ever Told.  

I heard this song at a friend's wedding and I fell in love with it immediately.  The song sounds like a beautiful love poem.  I just love it!

11. Can you play a musical instrument? Which one?
No, I can't.  I had to resist turning this answer into something dirty lol

12. Are you in a band or are you a performing solo music artist? If yes, what kind of music do you play?
No, not in a band.

13. Have you ever dated a musician?
I dated a guy in a band when I was in college.  It was kinda fun to watch him at gigs and see girls go crazy over him, despite the fact that they weren't famous and really weren't that good!  lol 

14. Are you a groupie?

No, not a groupie.  I like music and I like bands, but have no desire to be a groupie.  Perhaps when I was younger, I felt differently.  I'm too old to be a groupie now.  

Bonus: Describe your worst, best, strangest, funniest or saddest concert moment.
I went to a concert at Kaneohe Marine Corp Base, called Bayfest.  It was free seating and I got there pretty late.  I was supposed to meet up with friends, but the concert was at a hangar and it was huge.  I couldn't find my friends and the concert was about to start.  I was looking for a seat and this hot Marine tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I needed a place to sit.  I said Yes and he offered to let me sit on his lap. He was gorgeous and had blue eyes, so I couldn't say no. And that is how I met Matt.  :)

I don't really like the music stations we have here.  I like to use Pandora on my cell phone and just let it choose songs for me.

I am against cheating, so (d) is not an option.  My answer is mostly (a).  I do fantasize when I masturbate and if I were away from my man for that long, my mind may wander to someone besides him.  So (c) is a possibility too!

It depends on if I were attracted to him.  If so, the answer is (b).  If I'm not, then (a).  I am strongly against workplace relationships.  I'm already a huge flirt, so (b) isn't too far out of my realm.

It depends on the background of the situation.  Sex is VERY important to me, so I doubt I could stay with a guy long if he had no desire to fuck me or to work on whatever issue was causing him to not be able to fuck me.  If it were a physical issue, I'd say (b).  If it were a matter of him just not finding me attractive anymore, I'd be (d).

4. The last time you and your mate had sex, were you:

I don't think flirting is cheating.  Again, I tend to be a flirter, so I can't really say anything.  I don't do it on purpose.  But if I'm in a relationship and my bf is uncomfortable with certain things I say or do, I will do my best to NOT do it.  If you care about someone, you never want to hurt their feelings, even unintentionally.

TMI Tuesday - At the Movies

1. Why do you go to the movies?
a. To feel
b. To think
c. To escape
d. To enjoy the air conditioning

I guess the closest answer is c. I just like going to the movies simply to enjoy the movie. It's all about the entertainment. I don't take movies too seriously or jump to point out all the mistakes I see in them.  It's all about fun for me.

2. In the last six months, have you viewed more movies at home or at the movie theatre?
I go to the theater at least once a week, so I'd say at the movies.  I have a Netflix subscription, but I don't use it nearly as much as I should.

3. What was the last movie you watched at home? At the theatre?  Home:  "The Fighter" - I saw this when it was in the theater, but it just came onto instant streaming on Netflix recently and I had to watch it again
Theater:  "Captain American" - Chris Evans.  Enough said.

4. Which do you enjoy most in a movie?
a. Two beings battling to death such as Godzilla and Mothra (or any foe), Gladiator
b. Car chase scene such as Ronin, Fast & the Furious
c. Major heist such as Italian Job, Ocean’s Eleven, Snatch
d. Epic battle scene such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings: Two Towers

I love a good car chase scene, but heists are a close second!  I like action sequences!

5. In your opinion, which movie(s) have the best or most enjoyable sex scenes?
Considering how much I love sex (and write about sex), I'm surprised that I've never really thought about this before.  The first movie that pops into my mind is "Unfaithful".  I remember there being a lot of hot sex scenes in it.  And who can forget that bathroom quickie??

It depends on my mood.  I like boy meets girl because well, I'm a girl!  But a buddy movie is always good too!

I like action movies the best, comedies second.  I thought "Fast Five" was a good action movie this year.  It was exciting from start to finish.

I think it's generally d.  "Beaches" comes to mind right away.  "A Walk to Remember" too.  

Bonus: What is your favorite movie? Why?
This is always a tough question for me.  I have many movies I like from different genres.  But if I had to choose just one, it'd be "Crash".  I think that movie is so raw and it really makes you think.  There's a reason it won so many awards.  It came out the year "Brokeback Mountain" did (2006) and surprised everyone by winning the Academy Award for Best Picture.  If you haven't seen it, you should!

TMI Tuesday - Regrets

I don't like to live my life with regret.  I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.  But for the sake of this TMI Tuesday, I am revisiting my past to answer these questions. 


1. What was the last thing you regret buying?
I spent $80 on some MAC eyeshadows.  I love MAC makeup, but in hindsight, I probably won't use the colors I purchased.  I tend to stick with neutrals for work and play.  They are unopened so I can still return them if I decide to.

2. What was the last sex toy you regret buying?
I have NEVER regretted purchasing a sex toy.  I love sex toys and I'm always willing to try new things!

3. Briefly describe a time that you had sex, and you should not have. Why did you do it?
I was 24 when I had sex with a very handsome military guy that I had met online.  Through our conversations, I had a suspicion that he had a girlfriend or wife, though he denied it.  He was so good looking and he looked at me with his blue eyes, and I just gave in.  I later found out that he had a wife and 2 kids!  And I found this out from his wife!  She had been combing through his cell phone bill and noticed my number and called me.  I felt bad for what happened and I should have trusted my instincts.

4. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
I actually love the age I am right now, so I guess I would say 29!

It depends on what kind of flirting it is.  If it was an attempted kiss or an indecent proposal, I would tell my friend.  I tend to be quite flirty myself, so I wouldn't tell my friend unless I was sure it was something serious.

6. What is your greatest professional regret?
When I was 21, I had the opportunity to relocate for the job I had at the time.  It was just to another state, but I still wish I had taken the chance.  Even if I moved and then hated it and came back to Hawaii, I wish I would have at least tried. 

Bonus: What is your biggest regret?

TMI Tuesday - Getting To Know Me

1. Which would you rather do and why?
a. yard work or house work
House work.  I hate yard work.  Maybe it's the girly girl in me, but yard work messes up my nails way too much!  Though I do have a fairly small yard.  Luckily, I have fwb who help me with my yard work

b. hike or run
Hike!  There's so many nice trails here in Hawaii.  Hiking doesn't even seem like exercise because it's non-stop beauty all around!

c. outdoor sports or indoor sports
Well this is up for debate.  I like basketball, which can be done inside or outside.  I also like to shoot pool and bowl, which are both done indoors, though some may say those are not sports!

d. fast food burger from the drive-thru or sit-down salad
Oh gosh, a fast food burger wins every time for me.  I love the sirloin burger from Jack in the Box.  I guess that's why I feel 10 pounds heavier than I did in high school!

e. yoga or aerobics
Aerobics/Zumba.  I love how it gets my heart pumping.  And when I do aerobics, I get sweaty and that makes me feel like I'm really burning the calories away. 

f. ice-cream or cake; what kind?
I'm more of an ice cream girl.  I love Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia.  Though if you put a slice of black forest cake in front of me right now, I'd eat it up in less than a minute!

Ice cubes. I hate hot wax.  That shit hurts and I refuse to do that to a guy.

I'm Asian, so I'm sure you're expecting me to say Math. I very rarely get 8 hours of sleep.  If I don't have anything I need to do early in the morning on the weekends though, I do sleep for at least 8 hours.

I love mac and cheese.  I sometimes make the instant stuff when I get a craving, otherwise I make it from scratch with lots of butter and cheese.

5. Do you match up your socks after washing and drying them, and before putting them away?
Yes, I do.  I like to be able to easily find the matching pair when I need them.


6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
When I was a kid, I always liked the "green blue" crayon.  I don't know why.  I just really liked that one, so I guess that's the crayon I would be.

Bonus: When you have sexual dreams or dreams about sex, what does the dream generally involve? Is it a recurring theme?
