What's Going On Here?

This isn't my screenshot, but it's a general idea of what I saw today!

Matt and I had the day to ourselves and decided to go into town and see the sights.  We both hadn't checked our emails or Facebook since Friday, so we brought our laptops to Starbucks and figured we'd just hang out there before we had to be home for the dinner Matt's mom was cooking.

I logged into my email and I was speechless.  I usually get between 5-10 emails a day, but I had told my friends I'd be going on this trip, so they knew not to email me.  Imagine my surprise when I saw that I had over 100 unread emails!  And that was only since late Friday night!   I told Matt about it and he said that maybe someone had promoted my blog on Tumblr.  That was a possibility, but even when that happens, I get a lot of hits on my blog, but not that many emails.

I took the time to email a few of the guys back and I quickly realized the emails were from guys in Hawaii.  Almost every email was a guy offering to be my friends with benefits.  It's rare that a guy from Hawaii emails me, so I asked a few of the guys how they found my blog.  I won't say here what they told me, but whoever you are, thank you!  I have no idea why you did what you did, but I appreciate the traffic to my blog.  According to blogger, I've had over 7,000 hits in the last 2 days.  I usually average 600/day.

Let me clear something up, I am not planning on finding my new friends with benefits through my blog.  I will keep an open mind, but it's just not my plan right now.  Secondly, I will answer all the emails I've gotten, but it might take me awhile since, again, Matt's parents have dial up only.  I appreciate all the emails I've gotten and I will get back to you all soon!

I'm having a wonderful time in Wisconsin.  It makes me sad to think I am leaving on Sunday :(  I hope everyone is having a nice week!

Dealing With Liars

(If you don't want to read a negativity filled rant, I highly advise you NOT read this post!  Don't say I didn't warn you!)

I have loved my time as a blogger.  I have met many amazing people and some of the emails I've received have really touched my heart.  But the downside to all this is dealing with the fakes and liars.  I will admit that I tend to take people at their word and believe what they tell me.  I wouldn't say I'm naive, but I a definitely too trusting.

In the last 3 months, I have met some very fake and insincere people.  It makes me laugh when someone emails me for advice then I see them passing along that same advice, verbatim, as their own.  I've had guys lie to be about their location because they knew I wouldn't send them a picture if I knew they were from Hawaii.  I've had guys lie and tell me they are single and then I find out they are married or have a girlfriend.  I don't know why guys feel the need to lie about this because when someone emails me, it doesn't matter if they are single or not. Along those lines, I've also had many older guys lie to me about their age and tell me they were younger than they really are.

I've also had people who lie about such stupid things.  I had one person tell me about their own sexual encounters with various partners then turn around and write on Tumblr that they'd only been with a couple of partners.  What is the point of that?  Either you're lying to me about the sexual encounters or you're lying about how many people you've slept with.  Personally, I don't associate with liars.  If I catch you in a lie, you better believe you will never hear from me again.

Maybe some people don't care about this stuff.  I bet some people will read this and think this post is so lame.  I really don't care.  I take a very vested interest in my readers.  When someone emails me and needs my help or advice, I take it to heart.  I've offered my personal cell phone number to a few people because I felt they might need to hear a caring voice.  Lying is a huge thing with me.  I feel like if you're willing to lie about something small or meaningless, then you're just as willing to lie about something more important.  And if that's the case, I have no desire to be your friend, even if it is just through emails.  I will devote my time to sincere readers who need my advice or a friend to talk to.  I have no time for liars.

Despite how frustrated I get with the liars and fakes, I will NOT stop blogging.  I love sharing my stories with all of you and I'm not going to let a few assholes ruin it.  I love my readers and to those who have taken the time to email me and share your stories, experiences, feelings, comments, and thoughts, THANK YOU!  I continue to blog because of you.

The lesson from all this is to not waste your time lying to me.  There's no reason to.  I will talk to you if you have a wife or girlfriend and need my advice.  I will talk to you if you're a virgin or if have slept with 100+ people.  I don't care if you're 18 or 81.  Ahhh, thank you for letting me vent.  I feel better already!  And for the liars and fakes, FUCK YOU!  Okay, I'm done now.  I have a great sexual encounter planned for late tomorrow night and I will make up for this negative post with the recap of that encounter, I promise :)

So There's This Blog...

This post will be very short because I can't go into the details.  Last night, I met up with a friend at a bar after my family dinner. While I was there, I met a very cute guy, gave him my number, then he casually mentioned my blog.  Yes, this blog!  He mentioned tumblr and brought up my blog, but he didn't know that I was the author.  Ahhhh!  I almost didn't know what to say.  Now I don't know if I should pursue being friends and possibly more.  It just shows how small the world (and especially Hawaii) is.  I guess I never really thought about how I'd react to meeting someone who actually read my blog.  I may have to think about that more for future encounters.

To my fellow anonymous bloggers, has this ever happened to you?  How did you handle it?  And for my readers, do you think I should confess to this guy?
